These pictures show the scenes yesterday at Exeter Cathedral where there was a Saxon and Viking 'invasion'.
An historic re-enactment took place on the Cathedral Green on Saturday, while Saxon remains were on display to the public inside the Cathedral.
There has been a Christian presence on the green since Roman times, and there was a monastery in Exeter during the Saxon period, which was ravaged by Vikings in the early 11th century.
On display inside the cathedral was the Exeter book – a unique collection of Anglo Saxon poems and riddles – and also some human remains excavated from the green.
There were also children's activities too throughout the display, including bow and arrow making and face painting.
