A teenage old foreign exchange student was left screaming in horror after she spotted a man filming her through a skylight as she took a shower. Voyeur Ian Dawson was found with images of two other teenaged girls on his computer when the schoolgirl alerted police to her ordeal. Computer engineer Dawson was ordered to go on a sex offenders' treatment course after a judge heard how he planned to show the images to a group of friends, who had egged him on to obtain them. Dawson, aged 48, of Cambridge Street, Exeter, admitted two counts of voyeurism and was ordered to attend a sex offenders' treatment programme as part of three year community order by Recorder Mr Jonathan Fuller at Exeter Crown Court. He told him:"You would benefit very much from treatment to assist you in dealing what must be some personal interest in these images." Mr Jonathan Barnes, prosecuting, said a foreign exchange student was staying at a house in Exeter in 2012 when she was shocked to find herself being watched through a skylight as she stood naked in a shower. He said:"She was in the shower and became concerned when she saw a masculine hand holding a camera to the window of the shower room and attempting to photograph her while she was naked. "She screamed and later complained to the police who went to the address concerned but found any images had been deleted from the camera." He said an examination of Dawson's computer showed images of two teenaged girls dressing, undressing and posing. Mr Joss Ticehurst, defending, said Dawson was encouraged to obtain images by a group of friends, some of whom suffer from a form of autism. He said:"He is a man who is easily led by his friends and felt he had to fit in with their disreputable attitudes. He did not in fact do so. He is deeply ashamed of what he did." He had taken the picture in the shower for them but deleted it and never showed it to anyone. He said the other images were not taken by him and he stumbled across them while working on someone else's computer but had then catalogued and kept them. He said the pictures were not indecent and were more like selfies.
