Fire crews were called to a kitchen blaze earlier today
Two fire engines from Exeter were sent to reports of smoke issuing from a property in Archibald Road, Exeter at 16:21.
On arrival crews confirmed there was heavy smoke logging on the first floor of the property and used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to investigate the fire.
Crews asked for an ambulance to attend due to one male casualty who was suffering from smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire was a pan on the cooker which was accidentally left on.
Crews then made the property safe.
