An Exeter woman who died in a crash on the North Devon Link Road earlier this month has been named as a member of Devon and Cornwall Police who was with the force for more than 25 years. The deceased driver of the Astra has now been named as Marion Leach, 63, from Exeter. Marion's family have paid tribute to their loving sister who leaves her two brothers and sister devastated at their untimely loss. Another woman who died in the incident has not yet been named but has been described as a 73-year-old from Billericay, Essex. A Vauxhall Astra driven by Marion Leach from Exeter and a Ford Fiesta driven by the woman from Billericay were involved in a collision on the A361, two-and-a-half miles north of South Molton, at 11am Saturday, June 14th. A woman passenger in the Vauxhall Astra, a 32-year-old from Exeter, also suffered serious leg injuries in the crash. One of the women died at the scene and, at 5.30pm that day, Inspector Rob Curtis, of Devon and Cornwall Police, confirmed that a second woman had died of her injuries in Derriford Hospital in the previous two hours after being airlifted there in a police helicopter. Anyone with information concerning the incident should call police on 101, quoting log number 0351.
