An elderly woman has been seriously injured in a collision with a car in Exeter.
A silver Peugeot 206 collided with a woman in her late 70s leaving her with serious head injuries, say police.
An ambulance arrived at the scene and paramedics found her unconscious but breathing.
She has been taken to The Royal Devon & Exeter Hopsital by ambulance but is expected to be airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
Police closed Pinhoe Road between Hamelin Lane and Polsloe Bridge at 9:45am.
The female driver of the Peugeot, a 24-year-old, has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
The road was reopened at 4:20pm.
