THE Exeter-based charity Dream-A-Way has entertained more than 70 special guests and their carers at Bicton Park Botanical Gardens.

Owner Valerie Lister and her team dished up a Christmas lunch and all were said to be delighted with their gifts from Father Christmas.

There was a prize draw, bingo and even a mini auction. The trip was jointly funded by the Express & Echo's We Care fund and Dream-A-Way.

Chairman Jeff Merrett: "It was a fantastic lunch in a fantastic setting. All of our guests left with huge smiles after another great day at Bicton Park Botanical Gardens.

"Thank you to Valerie and her amazing team and of course our generous donors who funded this festive occasion."

Next year will see Dream-A-Way celebrate its 20th birthday.

It is planning a wide range of events and trips.

Jeff added: "We've got loads planned for 2013 including three golf days to suit all handicaps and budgets; regular Indoor Karting at Raceworld; two makeover events; there's collections at Exeter City and Exeter Chiefs matches; a 5K run; the annual Santa Run, and to top it all we're the charity of the year for Devon County Show."
