Greg Newcombe has called on his players to return to winning ways when Exwick visit Lifton on Saturday.
Exwick suffered a second defeat of the campaign on Saturday as they went down by two wickets against Tiverton.
Skipper Newcombe will have a strong batting line-up available for Saturday's contest, although his bowling attack is somewhat depleted.
Nevertheless, he says it is essential that his misfiring team rediscover the winning touch.
"Basically we are pretty much up to full strength with our batting line-up so we are hoping to get some runs, be extremely competitive and put some points on the board against Lifton," said Newcombe,
"It is a big game for us and hopefully we can try and turn it around after a couple of losses.
"Obviously we need to try and get back to winning ways. Bowling is going to be an issue for us as we are having to turn to a couple of youngsters who can hopefully do the business for us."
Exwick made 160 for nine against Tivvy, who managed to beat that total for the loss of eight wickets.
Tiverton went top with the win, and they face another crunch game at fourth-placed Woodbury this weekend.
"It is nice to be top but we have another crucial game against Woodbury in our next match and we have to make that count," said skipper Brendon Parr. "Saturday was a very close game – closer than we would have liked.
"Our bowlers were key to the victory. Paul Rendall (3-14) was very good and picked up some really important wickets for us.
"Jon Hall (4-21) also bowled some very important spells for us and got some crucial wickets."
Woodbury put on 211 for eight against Buckland Monachorum, and managed to skittle out their opponents for just 76 to register a 135-run win and head into Saturday's fixture in fine fettle. Newton St Cyres welcome Cheriton Fitzpaine after losing by 107 runs to Culmstock .
Newton made 219 for four as they looked to chase down a total of 326 for three from Culmstock, whose Russell Geach put on a superb 132 not out.
The Cherries lost by 76 runs against Lifton, making just 137 as they looked to chase down 213.
