TWO fathers 4 Justice protestors climbed to the roof of Exeter Cathedral early this morning.
Armed with a banner, food and drink initially they said in a statement they are prepared to stay there 'for days'.
Police were called after activists Jolly Stanesby,44,from Ivybridge and Archit Ssan,53, from Croydon were spotted after climbing up the west front of the Cathedral and onto the balcony for their Fathers' day protest against the Family Court system.
They unfurled a banner which read Family Courts are evil.
Mr Ssan abseiled from the Cathedral around 12.45pm while Mr Stanesby said he was intending to stay on the roof for most of the afternoon.
Both are dressed as superheroes.
Spokesman for the group, Rich Adams, said that two teenage boys had tried to join the protest by scaling scaffolding at the Cathedral but were stopped by the police.
The Legal Sunday Service was due to be held in the Cathedral at 11.30am followed by a reception at the Exeter Corn Exchange. This annual event brings together judges, civil authorities and all concerned with the administration of justice in Devon.
