Two fire engines from North Tawton and Middlemoor in Exeter were called out when a forage harvester caught fire on a farm near Crediton.
The blaze at Ruxford Barton, Sandford, happened at around 10pm on Saturday.
On arrival the crews discovered the harvester was well alight and got to work extinguishing the fire using two hose reel jets.
Mobile lighting was used while they made the harvester safe. The crews confirmed it was an accidental fire, possibly caused by an electrical fault.
