Since undergoing a sympathetic renovation, The Globe is even more popular than ever. Visitors are attracted by its tasteful and relaxing interiors where you can enjoy speciality coffees, fine wine and award-winning ales.
Its enticing menus have an emphasis on local Devon and Westcountry produce with daily-changing specials making the most of fresh ingredients.
Where possible all ingredients are grown, reared or caught locally. The food successfully combines the classic with the modern and is classy yet simple. It is served in The Globe’s Elizabethan Restaurant.
What?
Its sample menu features a wide choice of starters including salt and pepper squid, saffron mayonnaise, and watercress salad, £6.50; and venison terrine, apple and rosemary jelly and three seed wafers, £6.50.
Mains range from locally sourced Tribute ale battered fish with chunky chips, mushy peas, tartar sauce, £11, to slow cooked blade of beef, wild mushrooms, parmentier potatoes and roasted shallots, £14.50.
When?
Food is served throughout the day until 10pm. Booking is advised.
