Police have confirmed five people are in custody after an alleged robbery near Newton Abbot town centre last night.
The incident occurred in Marsh Road, Newton Abbot, near the cricket club ground, between 11.15pm and 11.24pm.
A police helicopter was seen flying in the area at that time.
Police said they were unable to comment further on the matter and are making further inquiries into the incident.
The five were in custody awaiting police interviews on Sunday.
