A motorcyclist was rescued after coming off the road and falling 40 feet down a ravine.
Specialist fire crews were mobilised on Friday evening after reports that a motorcyclist had left the road at Chineway Hill in Ottery St Mary and plummeted down the ravine.
A Hazardous Area Response Team from the ambulance service was also called the scene.
Fire crews from Honiton were also involved in the rescue.
The extend of the motorcyclist's injuries are not yet known.
