Reports of an impending heatwave have been quashed by the Exeter-based Met Office.
The Mirror reported yesterday that Britain was heading for the first heatwave of the year with temperatures to reach 82F.
But forecasters have said the next 30 days of national weather looks likely to be changeable, with showers and sunny spells.
In Devon the next five days will be wet with gusts of up to 40mph throughout the day.
The forecaster said temperatures will be slightly below average in our region but we could see some sunny intervals at times.
Adding: "Thursday is looking fairly wet, with lots of rain around."
Temperatures are predicted to be around 12C and 13C, which is just slightly below the average of 14C.
There will be blustery winds and rain throughout much of Thursday.
Forecaster Nicola Maxey said: "Friday will start off quite blustery, but with sunny intervals."
Temperatures are predicted to be around the 13C mark and the day could see strong winds of up to 40mph.
She said: "Saturday will be a day of much rain. It will be changeable, so we might see some suny spell with temparatue up to 13C, but the gusts will be 40mph.
"There will be a similar picture on Sunday, with highest predicted temperatue of 12C.
"Nationally, the next 30 days the weather looks to be changeable, with showers and some sunshine.
