Exeter midfielder Jimmy Keohane has said he expects City to go from strength to strength in 2014-15, after he helped the Grecians secured their place in League Two for next term with a 2-0 win over Scunthorpe United last weekend. The 23-year-old Irishman bagged City's second goal against the Iron and banished any lingering fears of relegation against a side who had arrived in Devon having gone 28 games unbeaten. Keohane is keen to avoid a repeat of this season's scenario, but he believes the experience will make him and his team-mates stronger as they look to improve for the next campaign. "It was a really good team performance on Saturday – we've done that a few times this year," Keohane said. "All that has really been lacking is a bit of consistency this season. Luckily we did it at the weekend, and we got the three points. "Our home form hasn't been too good, but it's nice to get a win against a team that is top of the league. We got a great win against Fleetwood recently as well – hopefully we can carry that into next season. "We have to find that cutting edge against teams that are lower down – we'll have to work on that. But there are a lot of players that have come on this season, and we'll only go from strength to strength in the coming years." Keohane was returning to the City side for the first time since March 1, when he started the 2-1 defeat at York City. Despite his obvious attacking talent, the former Bristol City youngster has been used sparingly this campaign, especially in the second half of the campaign despite Exeter's desperate need for creativity and goals in the final third. Keohane provided just that against Scunthorpe as he won the free-kick that led to Craig Woodman's opener, before scoring his second goal of the campaign to make the points safe. "I was pleased to get back in the team – I think I've been training quite well recently and I was just ready for an opportunity," he said. "I felt like it went well on Saturday – I got a bit of a lucky goal, but I'll take that. It bobbled up in front of me, but I was glad that it squirmed in – a goal is a goal. "I like running at defences, getting forward and trying to score goals – that's my game and I try to contribute that to the team."
