A Bentley driving property lawyer was caught speeding along a motorway at 109mph as he rushed to a funeral.
Adrian Leavey, from south west London, told a court:"I was consumed with guilt. It was no excuse and I apologise. I was speeding but in control of my vehicle."
Police stopped him on the M5 in Exeter, Devon, in June in his Bentley with its personalised number plate.
Leavey said he was a property lawyer who travelled up and down the country.
Exeter magistrates court fined him a total of £910 and put six points on his licence at the hearing last week.
