A NEW Exeter-based "buddy" project has been launched to help those in recovery from drug or alcohol addiction.
The Redeeming Our Communities(ROC) Exeter Buddy Scheme is a partnership between AddAction, Devon Drug Service, RecoveryLink and Devon Primary Care Trust, and churches in the city, and is supported by Devon Drug and Alcohol Action Team. It has been developed through the national charity ROC.
The scheme will help individuals who are working through a recovery programme to link up with trained 'buddies' who will support them through their recovery.
It was launched this weekend at the Devon Recovery Fair.
