Superstar Adele is backing Devon's Luke Friend to win X Factor.
The singer wrote twitter: "Luke Friend was ridiculously good in that sing off on X factor! I want him to win!"
Luke, from Teignmouth, found himself battling through into next week's live shows after a sing off against 19-year-old Sam Callahan on Sunday.
The student sang Elton John's Your Song on the Saturday night show and received good comments from the judges, after "coming back fighting" from the previous week according to Gary Barlow.
Louis Walsh stated that "you made it your own… it was a solid performance."
During the sing off he sang U2's I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, while Sam Callahan sang Goo Goo Dolls song Iris.
According to Gary Barlow, Sam's was "the best performance I've seen you give" despite being previously critical of his vocal ability.
But Nicole Scherzinger claimed that she was able to connect with Luke on a weekly basis whereas she struggled to connect to Sam's music each week and therefore sent him home.
Despite Louis Walsh refused to choose between his acts, the rest of the judges were unanimous in their decision that Luke Friend should stay for another week.
