PAM Preston (pictured) of Palmers Whitton and Laing Estate Agents is taking a big leap of faith – all in the name of charity.
To raise much-needed funds for Hospiscare, a charity based in Exeter, Mid and East Devon that gives high-quality care and dedicated support to people who are terminally ill, Pam at the age of 57, is taking part in a 'tandem' sky-dive on August 24, 2013.
Palmers Whitton and Laing employees, along with family and friends, have been giving their sponsorship pledges in advance of the big day. Pam Preston said: "Hospiscare patients, as well as their family and friends, have to cope with extraordinarily tough and devastating situations and their bravery is incredible. Hospiscare is there to provide support, be it care or counselling, and I want to raise as much money as possible for them so they can continue to carry out such important work in the local community".
Philip Muzzlewhite of Whitton and Laing in Exeter has very generously donated the cost of the sky-dive so that all funds raised will go directly to Hospiscare. He said: "I couldn't believe it when one of my team put forward this idea of doing a sky-dive – it's absolutely incredible and terribly brave. I hope Pam will be supported by her family, friends and the wider community in the quest to raise funds for Hospiscare; a charity in which the firm has given many thousands of pounds to over the years and one that is very dear to many of us".
