Arron Davies was an integral part of the Exeter City side that created history on their travels last season and on the eve of the Grecians' first jaunt away from St James' Park this campaign, he wants more of the same.
Eleven wins from 23 league games set a new club record for Exeter and it was achieved off the back of a solid defence and quick and incisive counter attacking football.
City may have lost Jamie Cureton since then – 13 of his 21 goals were scored outside of Devon – but Davies feels Exeter have enough within their ranks to compensate for the loss of Cureton and maintain such god away form.
"We haven't touched on the away record really," he said. Obviously our away form was superb last year and hopefully we can continue that this year.
"We defended really well and hit teams on the counter attack and stayed in our shape. We were really disciplined and if we can beat that away record, that would be some achievement.
"We may have to change the way we play a little because we don't have Jamie, but you saw on Saturday what Sam (Parkin) can do and we know what the other strikers at the club can do.
"Everyone brings something different to the table, as Jamie did as well. I am sure Tis (Paul Tisdale) will have a game plan and I think we have players that can adapt to any situation."
The situation facing Exeter tomorrow is a trip to Mansfield Town, who are riding the crest of a promotion wave following their Conference title success last season.
City are a good example of a team that has flourished in League Two off the back of a promotion, so they know only too well what dangers lie in wait, even if the Stags have lost their first two games of the campaign.
"A lot of teams come up and flourish in this league and with it being their first home game, they will be bang up for it," Davies added. "I know they lost their first two games, but the adrenalin will be pumping and I am sure there will be a good atmosphere on Saturday.
"Hopefully their confidence will be dented a little bit after losing the first two games, but that doesn't really matter for us. We will go there with a game plan and try and win the game regardless.
"I played there in pre-season for Nottingham Forest, it is a nice little ground and I am sure it will be a good game as it is their first game back in the league. They will have a big crowd there and it will be very tough game."
Although beaten by an impressive Queen's Park rangers side in the League Cup this week, City can travel in good heart and with three points already on the board following their 2-1 win over Bristol Rovers last weekend.
"All the lads were buzzing on Saturday and took it into Tuesday, which was a different type of game, but I thought we acquitted ourselves quite well and were beaten by a better team," Davies said. "QPR are a very good side, but we will go into Saturday full of confidence, training has been good and all the lads are looking forward to it.
"I think it was massive to get the win. It was the first game of the season, a local derby game, there was a good turn out for it and a lovely day. It was perfect for it, to win the game was good, but I thought the performance was there as well. I think all the fans left happy, it was a really good atmosphere and all the lads were buzzing after the game, so we will take that into Saturday."
