FIRST-TIME buyers last month were up 68 per cent on June last year, haart estate agents has said.
The firm says that total new applicants to its network of some 100 offices in June were up 29 per cent on a year ago, but that stock is continuing to dwindle – down 5.5 per cent year on year, and down 2.7 per cent on the previous month.
Haart says there is a chronic shortage of stock which has kept house sales subdued. The number of sales is up just 0.6 per cent on a year ago.
The firm also says there is an average of 10.1 viewings per property for sale.
