A SMALL group of travellers who had moved on to Cowick Barton playing fields left the site after Exeter City Council started legal action.
Two caravans had been parked at the Wellington Road end of the playing fields after arriving on Sunday.
The chain and padlock on the Wellington Road park gates had allegedly been removed.
The council filed papers with the Exeter courts which would have forced them to move on but it is understood that they left, leaving the site generally clear, on Tuesday.
