Police appeal for witnesses

POLICE in Exeter are appealing for witnesses to a late-night racist incident at a city kebab shop.

At around midnight on Wednesday, April 24, a man reportedly was racially abusive to staff at the Golden Horn kebab and pizza take-away on the corner of Mary Arches Street, before urinating up against the shop window.

The alleged offender is described as being white, aged 24 or 25, with medium length brown hair and of average build. He was wearing a black T-shirt with an abstract white design around the top and was with another man.

Anyone who may have seen the incident or who may know the man are urged to contact police.

PC Mike Baker investigating, said: "These shops are open to provide a service to the late night economy and it's unacceptable they have to put up with such abuse.

"We want to reassure victims of similar offences that police will take robust action and we are appealing for members of the public to assist."
