A PARTYGOER who attacked a man with a dumbbell during a Tiverton street fight has been found guilty at Exeter Crown Court.
Peter Milne, 33, from Kelway road, in Wellington, Somerset, attacked Simon Bell, 31, at Tiverton's Pannier Market, in November 2011. Milne hit Simon Bell around the head repeatedly and then sent him a message which read "Ha, that worked", the court heard.
Mr Bell suffered head injuries which caused his brain to swell. He was kept in a coma at Derriford Hospital's intensive care unit and spent 16 days in hospital before being discharged.
A jury found Milne guilty of wounding and having an offensive weapon. Milne, who used to live in Tiverton, denied causing grievous bodily harm, wounding and having an offensive weapon. He will be sentenced on Friday.
