A SEATON man has appeared in court charged with assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH) to his wife.
Police were called to reports of a domestic disturbance at a home in Wessiters in the town at around 10.20am on Friday, April 19.
Two people, a man in his 70s and a woman in her 60s, were taken to hospital both suffering from injuries.
Police initially cordoned off the scene at the property and detectives attended the scene.
Barry Powles, 71, of Wessiters, was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and was taken into Heavitree Road Police Station for questioning.
He was later charged with causing ABH and remanded in custody.
He appeared at Exeter Magistrates Court on Monday, April 22, and has been remanded until May 1.
