Man in hospital following Exmouth fire

A man needed hospital treatment after a garden fire in Exmouth.
Crews were called to Littleham Road just before 9pm last night (Friday) where they discovered a blaze involving refuse in the back garden of a property. They requested the attendance of an ambulance for one male casualty suffering from smoke inhalation. He was given oxygen until it arrived.
The fire caused a small amount of fire damage to the window frame and fascia board of an adjacent property while the casualty was conveyed to hospital by ambulance.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
