Thisisexeter.co.uk readers have expressed their disproval against the decision to hold a minutes silence for Margaret Thatcher ahead of Exeter Chiefs match on Saturday. On Wednesday Exeter Rugby Club chairman and chief executive Tony Rowe OBE confirmed that the club will hold a minute silence to pay respect to the memory of Baroness Thatcher. The sites users voted against the decision in our online poll 'Should Exeter Chiefs hold a minute silence before Saturday's match?' which finished with 87% voting against the decision and only 13% agreeing with it. The Premier League and Football League have rejected calls for a minutes silence ahead of Saturdays games. Hundreds of users voted in the poll and comments on Facebook and Twitter seemed to represent the results, see below for a selection for and against the tribute:For: Darren Williams on Facebook: "yes a great politician, we need more like her." Marc Hobbs on Facebook: "Yes its respectful lets forget what people dont like she was still human and for those immature people singing ding dong the witch is dead remember half of you weren't even born"Against: Exebomb on thisisexeter.co.uk: "I wouldnt hold my breath for the only prime minister is recent history that caused street riots and social dissorder. Thacher hated sports and the arts as much as she hated the poor. horrible woman and I seem to be the only one who isnt jumping on the bandwagon" Mandy Alford on Facebook: "No, it'll cause bad feeling. Let the fans enjoy their game." What do you think? Have your say in the box bellow or let us know on Twitter @thisis_exeter and make sure to check the site tomorrow for reactions to the tribute.
