An Exeter pensioner ended up with a replacement elbow after tripping on the pavement in Sidwell Street. Now Elizabeth Earland, 70, of Prospect Park, is calling for action to save others the agony she endured. Mrs Earland fell near the entrance to St Sidwell's Community Centre and underwent surgery at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital for a replacement elbow to be fitted. She said: "Since I fell I heard from a number of people about others who have tripped and fallen along Sidwell Street on loose or raise paving. "Many people have also complained that the moving slabs mean their feet get soaked in the wet weather. "It is simply not good enough. "I don't want to sue anybody, I just want the pavements repaired. "There is also a worry for elderly staff and customers who will be going to the new Age Concern shop coming to Sidwell Street. "I am contacting Age Concern to let them know and hope they will take up my concerns."
