There has been a rise in students looking for something amazing to put on their CV, but how far are they willing to go?
Apply for door to door fundraising, I decided to do some investigating after a mixed response.Personally I needed a job to fund for living costs. OK the hourly rate beats what retail offer, sounds amazing so far...
Until after a 2 hour interview, you're are told to do training that requires 12 hours over 2 days and to make you feel comfortable doing so they'll say "it's all paid training". OK I accept, and I got the job after training.
What I didn't know is, that the 15 hours over 3 days I signed up for requires you to be there 3 hours early everyday and you won't be back till 10pm. It's also shocking to find that it's illegal to knock on peoples doors after 8:30pm which the company asks you to do until 9pm. The overtime you just did, you won't get paid for and your break is 30 minutes. And remember to make sure, any company you apply for to check their health and safety procedures due to this company not having ;any I felt slightly uncomfortable.
with the up-rise of students not being able to get a job after/before graduating it's also essential to research. You might just find that working in retail isn't bad after all. On the Brightside, just keep donating to your charities at will, it's still makes a massive difference.
