British Transport Police (BTP) officers are investigating the theft of a bicycle from on board a train travelling between Exeter and Axminster.
Officers have just released CCTV images of a man they would to identify and speak to in relation to the incident.
Anyone who knows the identity of this man is asked to contact BTP and assist the investigation into the incident which took place on Tuesday, January 17.
Investigating officer, PC Stewart Warne, said: "The victim was travelling on a South West Trains service between Exeter Central and Axminster at around 9.30pm on Tuesday, 17 January.
"He left his blue mountain bike in the bike stand area of one carriage and sat in the next carriage. When he went to collect it as the train approached Axminster, he realised it had been taken."
Enquiries have been ongoing to find the person responsible but to no avail. After reviewing CCTV, officers would now like to speak to the man in these photographs as they believe he will have key information. This man travelled from Exeter to Feniton on board the train.
PC Warne added: "Officers work tirelessly to crack down on cycle theft, which cause victims great distress, often leaving them stranded and having to find other means to get home.
"If you know who this man in, please contact BTP straight away."
