A sex offender has been jailed shortly after being released from prison.
Leigh Yeo, 21, of St John's Road, Exmouth, admitted that, as a relevant offender under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 on January 25, he failed without reasonable excuse to comply with the notification requirements in that he failed to confirm his registered address within three days of his release from prison.
He was sent back to prison for 60 days. Exeter magistrates deemed the offence to be serious as it represented his seventh breach of the signing on provision. The offence was committed while he was on bail and he was described as being unwilling or unable to respond to non-custodial sentences.
There was no order for costs and he did not face a separate penalty for being drunk in a highway on February 4.
